Kansas City – Brenda Hamilton and Shannon Cohorst Johnson, shareholders, presented a CLE program on June 11, 2019 at the Annual Business Litigation Seminar sponsored by the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Business Litigation Committee. Their portion of the program focused on business litigation involving breach of non-competition agreements, tortious interference with contracts, and trade secret theft.

Hamilton has extensive experience handling high-stakes litigation in federal and state courts involving trade secret theft, breach of noncompetition agreements, employment discrimination, FLSA and wage and hour violations, business torts, contract disputes, and insurance coverage disputes. She currently chairs the firm’s Litigation Practice Group and heads its E-Discovery committee. 

Johnson has defended numerous complex and class action commercial litigation matters state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration.  Her experience includes everything from discrimination and retaliation cases to wage and hour actions, fraud, breach of contract, wrongful death, personal injury defense, medical malpractice, asbestos defense, business litigation, trucking litigation, regulatory issues, and products liability cases.
